Do you suffer from neck pain? Do you find yourself exercising/massaging/manipulating your neck? The problem with this way of thinking is, we miss the fact that the site of the pain is rarely the source of the problem.
Neck pain is likely to be caused by your spine and/or shoulders being out of balance. We can hardly expect dysfunctional shoulder and back muscles to hold the head in a balanced, upright position, as that’s a lot of work! When your upper body is out of alignment you may experience other symptoms such as back spasms, migraines, jaw pain, dizziness and blurred vision.
In this neck pain routine below, you will notice we do NOT go through exercises for your neck, we go through exercises that work on bringing the hips/ shoulders and spine back into balance to relieve your neck pain symptoms. This routine was taken out of Pete Egoscue’s Pain Free book, if you’re in pain and you’re wanting to take ownership of your health, this book is a great place to start.
