1 to 1 Therapy

Having a sedentary lifestyle is one of the main reasons for compromised posture. We are simply not moving enough and in the right way to keep the body in balance. I believe your compromised posture is the main cause of your pain and you can correct it by doing Postural Alignment Therapy. The method is designed to restore balance to your body, relieve chronic pain, and improve performance.

Before arranging your first appointment –

You get a FREE 20 minute consultation to talk through whether Posture Alignment Therapy is right for you, to ask any questions and arrange an appointment if suitable.

What to expect during an appointment –

 

  • Discuss your medical history, pain or performance concerns and you goals in a safe, positive and non judgemental  environment
  • Carry out a posture and gait assessment by taking photos of your posture and carry out functional tests to determine your compensations and dysfunctions that are causing your pain
  • Import information gathered into an ePete system technology to capture images of your posture to identify issues that are leading to your pain
  • Undertake gentle and some challenging exercises and devise an Individual personalised plan to start moving your body into alignment and relieve pain
  • Receive an email with your posture pictures, description of your exercises and videos of each exercise for you to carry out at home
  • Ongoing support – agree to a follow up email, text or call to see how you are getting on, and answer any questions

 

Initial consultation is 90 minutes and follow up appointments are approx 1 hour.

Posture photos will be taken every few visits to track the progress of your body’s structural changes. My clients almost always report positive changes during their first appointment. The main improvements they report are decreased pain, ease of movement, better balance, easier breathing, more stability, better posture, and improved mood. These changes become greater and more permanent as the client continues the process of doing daily personalised plan of posture exercises and committing to follow-up appointments throughout the program.

Every client responds differently to the method, for some only a few sessions are required to restore the body’s posture, eliminate chronic pain, and increase functional mobility. Whilst for others it can take several appointments before big improvements are made.

The method is not a quick fix, it’s a process, I usually find one session alone won’t fully re-align the body. After the first appointment you might feel the pain ease and notice a difference straight away but you will need to continue with the process until your body is back in balance and fully aligned. It’s highly possible you didn’t get into your current posture position overnight, therefore you need to remember it will take time to realign the body to its functional posture design.

For most clients it can take between 8 and 16 appointments to see and feel amazing results. The aim is to get you fully functionally as soon as possible so you no longer have the need to book to see me.

The average length of a personalised E-cise (Egoscue exercise) plan is between 15-45 minutes, this can be discussed and adjusted to suit your needs and lifestyle during the first appointment.
